CJC-1295 is a synthetic modification of growth hormone releasing factor. This is a growth hormone known as a long acting hormone, which can remain in the subject for up to a week. Other names for the peptide are Modified GRF 1-29, Mod GRF 1-29, and CJC-1295 without DAC. The DAC stands for Drug Affinity Complex, which aids in binding to circulating albumin- a protein made in the liver. It can also be found by its chemical name as tetrasubstituted GRF (1-29).

When CJC-1295 was first developed the name was simply original GRF which is known as a “half-life” hormone. Since this original version was introduced, the new Mod GRF 1-29 which lasts much longer and is much more stable.

The original CJC was developed by ConjuChem, a Canadian biotech company. They found that adding Lysine to the compound made the peptide more stable and required far less injections.

The peptide is sold as lyophilized powder in 2000mcg vials, requiring bacteriostatic water for reconstitution. Once the solution has been added to the vial it is important to keep cool in the refrigerator.
